Teaching is my jam.

My Design classes are a hybrid of graphic design & illustration, focusing on the way these two disciplines can be used to create powerful imagery for branding, print, web, and mobile experiences. In my Web Design Classes, I teach a combination of UX and UI design, as well as HTML and CSS. I focus on Design Thinking, audience, and user research as a core part of any project. I am especially interested in how design thinking can be applied to social entrepreneurship, and cofounded a company called Mulxiply, which led to teaching my Design for Good class at Rhode Island School of Design.

I began teaching in the late 90s, leading workshops on design & code for through Webgrrls. I have also taught senior citizens — my favorite group! Teaching is challenging and rewarding in the way that working with startups can be. There's never enough time in a semester to do all the things you want to do, and I work on adapting my classes every semester to the changing world we live in.

Say hello if you’d like to have me as a guest lecturer or portfolio reviewer.
