Non-running post….

Since I’ve been mostly out of commission for the last few days with my back and all, I’ve spent some time catching up on some of the online forums I visit, including some running forums, cycling forums, etc.

Anyway, I went to the off topic section of one of the running forms and was reading some random posts, when I came across this bigoted asshole’s rant about how gay people shouldn’t be allowed to marry because men can’t marry dogs and sheep. Are you f*cking kidding me? What kind of logic is that? And further, mister knuckle-dragger homophobe, how would you feel if your whole identity was likened to a dog or a sheep? Wouldn’t you be horribly insulted by that, and hurt that someone would say that to you, even on a stupid internet forum?

So… not to get all political on my blog, but I’ll say it straight up. I have a lot of gay friends, and I think they should be able to get married.  Actually, I think everyone, gay or straight,  should have civil unions in order to have equal benefits and be protected under the law, and leave marriage for church cermonies that have nothing to do with the govenment.

It just makes me mad is all. Furious, really, that there can be so much disgust and hate directed towards gay people, in this day and age, and that people can be so… well, stupid.

But then again, I’m some kind of liberal whackjob…. or at least that’s what they said in that forum. :)

I can’t win. Seriously.

It had been a great couple of weeks, with running, biking – all that stuff. And then Friday I threw my back out. Many Percocet and 1 trip to the chiro later, I am straightened up, but still in quite a bit of discomfort, and I feel as if my back could give out at any moment.

My chiro says Danskin is "questionable at best" right now, and I am devastated.

That is all.
