Who knew?
Last week I went to have some new orthotics made at my PT’s office. They are a soft orthotic – the kind that are like layers of foam fused together and hot as hell on your feet when they make you stand there and mold them for you? Well anyway, mine were soooooo old, and really needed to be replaced, so I trekked off to Brookline in the middle of the day to see Scott, who is a PT for the Bruins, the Red Sox, and for regular people like me. And couple of days later? I had 2 brand new pairs of blue and white, non-stankified, orthotic-y goodness.
That said, today was my first run in them. I set off for the Charles at lunchtime, in balmy, 50 degree temps. It was gorgeous, and most of the path was clear of snow. It was very wet, however, and I quickly became soaked from mid-shin down. Still, I was elated. No ITB issues. No sacroiliac pain at all. Nothing! Wooooooooooooooooooooot! I did 3 miles and felt awesome. And apart from a small arch blister on my right foot, which I am sure was caused by my soaked socks, they are, dare I say… perfect.
So perfect, in fact, that I am going to run again tomorrow. This is the life, is all I’m sayin’.
4 commentsI met Chris Brogan!
The first Saturday of every month, my studio space has a mini-open studios event. We try to get at least 1/3 of the artists in our building to participate in it, but it’s tough in the wintertime because people want to hibernate, etc. Anyway, I sent out an email to my local peeps and lo and behold, Chris Brogan came all the way out to Lowell to visit our studios.
Chris is a swell guy. I loved meeting him and talking shop. And you know, he’s taller than I pictured in my head.
Anyway, I ate way too much yesterday and I’m running today. That’s all the updates I have. :)
